PLA Silk

Material position

PLA Silk uses a PLA base with a silk-like sheen and rich colour as its defining surface character. Its sheen lets light travel across curves and printed layers as continuous highlights, giving arcs, folds and twisted contours greater depth. Vases, shades and desktop display pieces combine form and light so that colour becomes part of the design.

Selection notes

Choose a silk finish by considering gloss, print orientation and curvature together. Broad curves sustain continuous reflections, while close folds create a rhythm of light and shade; layer height, temperature and speed also influence highlight consistency.

Material

PLA Silk is a polylactic-acid-based filament direction whose formulation creates a silk-like sheen. Gloss and colour are its emphasis; the effect comes from formulation and the printed surface together rather than a metallic coating.

Forms

Vases, folded shades and curved display pieces let PLA Silk's sheen follow their geometry. Continuous arcs stretch highlights, while facets and folds create contrast, bringing colour and shape together as decorative expression.
Context — Concept visual

Context

Close viewing in desktop and display settings makes reflection, colour depth and fine geometry relevant choices. PLA Silk adds light-dependent depth to static forms, helping curved vases and display objects establish a clear visual focal point.
